Trusting the Process: Insights from Krista Tempest

At just 27 years old, Krista Tempest launched a successful Title and Escrow Company alongside a business partner, defying expectations by generating income within her first year. Despite facing the economic downturn of 2009, Krista adapted by taking a corporate position to stabilize her business. Throughout her journey, she harnessed her personal strengths of drive and creativity while navigating the challenges of raising her daughter as a single mother. At 40, she and her husband welcomed their son, prompting Krista to embrace motherhood while deepening her skills in presence and personal strength.

As a conscious leader, Krista exemplifies resilience and flexibility, relying on her faith and intuition to navigate life’s complexities. I had the pleasure of interviewing her for the inaugural episode of The Soulpreneur Podcast, where she shared invaluable insights into her journey.

Embracing Flexibility in Uncertainty

Krista emphasizes that her spiritual faith plays a vital role in her ability to adapt to uncertainty. “I don’t consider myself religious, but I am deeply spiritual. My faith in God reminds me that there is a path for all of us. Trusting that helps me release control over outcomes.”

She believes that intuition is equally crucial when facing obstacles. “When things don’t go as planned, we often realize that these challenges are meant to guide us toward growth. Trust your intuition, knowing that even difficult moments serve your higher good.”

For those who are naturally driven, Krista advises recognizing the importance of intuitive decision-making over the compulsion to control every outcome. “As you gain life experience, you learn that going with the flow can lead to healthier approaches.”

Transitioning from Entrepreneur to Employee

After years of entrepreneurship, Krista returned to a corporate job, seeking stability amid uncertainty. “Owning a business comes with its own set of liabilities, so working in a corporate environment can feel like a relief,” she shares. However, she found that her entrepreneurial mindset often clashed with corporate structures.

“My desire to implement improvements can be stifled in a corporate setting, where creativity is sometimes limited. It can be a challenge to navigate corporate constraints, especially when you thrive in environments where the possibilities are endless.”

Krista discovered that her personal strengths shone brightly in the corporate world, allowing her to quickly rise through the ranks. “I realized my independence, free-thinking, and charisma set me apart from my colleagues, enabling me to read people and adapt to different personalities.”

Yet, she also acknowledged her limitations in structured environments, noting that she felt less productive in a nine-hour workday compared to the intense productivity she experienced as an entrepreneur.

Looking Ahead: A New Chapter

At 49, Krista is embracing a new chapter in her life. “Having focused on my career as a single mother, I now appreciate the presence I can offer my son. Balancing career and family has always been a priority, and I look forward to carving out a space for myself that validates my strengths and gifts.”

As her son grows older, Krista is excited about fusing her experiences, ensuring she has time for her children, her relationship, and herself while pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams. “I believe in a nuanced approach to entrepreneurship. I don’t aim to have it all at once, but I strive for balance.”

Words of Wisdom for Future Generations

Reflecting on her journey, Krista has advice for her younger self: “Trust the process. You already know your capabilities. Believe in yourself, and enjoy the journey along the way. You’re going to be just fine.”
